Positive: This lovely property outside of the downtown area of Sawai Madhopur was an oasis for travelers. Like so many places in India, outside the compound is a dirt road, but you enter into a rose lined garden village with jasmine and other flowers that take you along paths that lead to the bungalows, dining area, pool and spa area, and common areas. The common areas are just outside the dining hall and include a sitting area courtyard. In the evening there are several events to keep guests occupied, mingling, and entertained. This includes tea and biscuits (with a lovely lady cooking fresh chai), a chat bar (Indian snack with yogurt), magician, star gazing (for a fee), and a full outdoor stage for dancers, musicians, and films, with fires to keep you warm. It was so nice to connect with other travelers and to share stories. Pool looked inviting but too cold at night in November. The room I stayed in had a small pool sized tub, that was not used and could be a hazard for the clumsy. It was amazing to see, and the rooms were large with the mud/clay/hay construction. The bungalows are sweet and the extra touch to put a personalized welcome sign on the door was appreciated. I really liked the hotel. Staff are great. Really wonderful and helpful. There is a common tip box in the reception office, which is divided up monthly to all staff. Taj is next door if you are curious, as is the Alsisar family palace hotel. Buffet was enormous at every meal. Lovely private outdoor courtyard for many bungalows.

Negative: The room I stayed in had a small pool sized tub, that was not used and could be a hazard for the clumsy. It was amazing to see but I never could practically use it. The pool-tub would be better if smaller, as you could never really fill it up or keep it warm. That would make the room much larger.
