Positive: The house is located right by the ocean, just to the side of a small fishing village. The vibe is very rustic and you get direct access to the beach. All the facilities, such as the shower and the furniture, are brand new and higher quality than in the average guesthouse of the same price range

Negative: The guesthouse is in Devaneri, which is about 3.5 km away from the main Mahabalipuram area where all the restaurants and archaeological sites are. There isn't a whole lot going on in Devaneri itself, so I’d definitely recommend renting scooters (like we did) or having your own car. Getting back and forth can get a little pricey if you're relying on the local transport options in Devaneri.
